Lee and I have been wanting to get a puppy for the family. We had put some "feelers" out there with friends who may know breeders/people with litters---but hadn't really pursued it heavily. I went to see Lee in NC this weekend and Lee's parents took Reese to Fayette. We get a call on Saturday and Lee got to talk to Reese for a few minutes. They had gone to the flea market and seen some black lab puppies that a guy was selling for only $30. Reese told Lee, "Daddy, we saw some puppies and I want one." Well, since we were already looking, Lee got the guy's phone number and called him to ask some questions and, long story short, we ended up getting Lee's dad to take Reese back and pick her out one. Maybe not smart when you are trying to teach a little girl that she can't have everything she wants. : ) But, I promise, we'll put our foot down when she finds that pony she wants.
So, I present to you the newest member of the Thompson family...Cash:
He is absolutely adorable. Reese just continues to order him around. She forgets his name, so she just calls him "dog", as if she were above having to remember it. Cash keeps biting John's hands and poor John is a little freaked out. And, of course, there is the crying/barking that all puppies do at this stage. Just hopefully ALL of our neighbors won't hate us by the time Cash breaks out of that!
We came up with Cash b/c Johnny Cash was the "man in black", he is a black lab, .... you get the point. We can't wait to keep playing with him and enjoying him. He even has the next door neighbor boys coming over to play with him already. So, no lack of love for ol' Cash. I am very grateful to Lee's parents for finding him for us.
On another note, today was "Visitor's Day" at Reese's ballet class. She did really well when she wasn't bored. She got a little of Lee's ADD in the genes. : ) She sang the loudest of everyone and really new her ballet moves when she concentrated on what she was doing. I was very proud of her!
Here are a few pics from that:
Love the attitude on this one. Says oh so much about Reese. : )
The little princess.
It's good to be a Daddy's girl!!
